My students need basic supplies such as 60 packs of pencils, a pencil sharpener, 60 rulers, 55 folders, a class pack of crayons, 30 white boards, and 10 sets of markers to start the new school year off on the right foot.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I watch my students scrambling for a pencil and rummaging for crayons. These actions are part of daily life in a classroom. Now imagine having all of the supplies you need at your fingertips. My students need supplies so we can spend our time learning.
My students are a lively bunch of fourth graders who love coming to school.
They attend a Title I school in Tennessee. They would rather read a good book, solve a math problem or write an amazing story, than constantly be on the hunt for everyday supplies.
My Project
We are requesting supplies to use in everyday classroom scenarios. A plethora of pencils and crayons are needed to create that story or bar graph. We need whiteboards with markers to brainstorm ideas about a trip and rulers and glue to build a masterpiece. They will learn to navigate these supplies, as well as produce amazing pieces of work to showcase our learning.
Having supplies to help us learn will have a great impact on my class.
No longer will we have to spend our time borrowing and sharpening pencils. No longer will we have to hear that a project can't be done due to lack of supplies. These materials will help us become more effective efficient learners!
