My Students
Think back to when you were nine years-old. Remember how you had access to a world of information at your fingertips? Various interactive tools, videos, texts, and programs to explore the world around you? Yeah, me neither! With the technology we have available today, all students should have that access.
All of my students are kind, energetic, enthusiastic, dedicated, and hungry for knowledge, but we lack the technological tools (and the resources to obtain them) to truly help them grow into the leaders of tomorrow.
In our classroom picture, we created presentations about ants. The students worked hard to gather as much information from textbooks, and our library books as possible. Their presentations were great, and with technology, the students would have the opportunity to research online, create videos and interactive presentations, include pictures, and so much more.
My Project
To put it quite simply, my students do not have regular, reliable access to the technological tools they will need to be successful adults. We want to be able to incorporate technology into as much of our curriculum as possible. I want my students to be able to access pictures, videos, texts, and other resources to gain a deeper knowledge about our subjects. I want the students to learn how to do research, how to write papers, how to create art, how to build things, and much much more.
The Chromebooks I am requesting are a great step forward for our students as they move into a future that will be created by ever-advancing technology.
