This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I see my students daily for 5 total class periods. I am trying to instill in them a love for learning ELA but at the same time, teaching them how to take care of their belongings and take responsibility for supplies. In order to do this, we need good routines and tools to ensure that this goal of mine runs smoothly. Often, my students do not bring their work home so having a space they want to take care of, show ownership of, and keep their supplies in is necessary and so appreciated by my students and me! In addition, I have also included some diverse texts to contribute to my growing library so my students (most of whom are low-income and of difference ethnicities and race) can have access to texts that speak to them and make them want to read!
