My Students

I have a very diverse group of students that are homeless or come from poverty stricken homes. Many days it is a struggle for them to get to school on time and have their own supplies that are needed to learn. My priority is to make sure that their health, well-being, and learning needs are taken care of. Although these students experience a lot of trauma, they love school and want to learn. We just need the supplies and resources to help make it happen.

My Project

My students are in need of student-sized clocks, links, math games, addition learning locks, dry erase markers, and flashcards to be sent home in homework bags a few times a week. The supplies such as Ziploc bags, folders & large envelopes will be used to hold games and game pieces. The number chart, number line, and timer will assist students during their small and large group math instruction in the classroom. These supplies and games will encourage my students to work harder during math and allow parents to work on basic math facts at home in order to help boost their fact fluency.

Having math supplies that students can use at home, as well as school will help increase their chances to be successful in math.

Many of my students' parents have expressed that they do not have flashcards at home and are unable to help their child with math. Many of the supplies listed will be used to create math homework bags for parents to help boost their child’s math skills.
