This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a math specialist, I work with K-5 students who are below grade level in math. They have huge hearts and spirits and give it their all. They may come to school under difficult circumstances, but remain resilient and look at the celebrations to be had beyond the tests.

Working in a dual language international school, many of my students navigate a cultural divide with amazing grace.

Most of my students are on free and reduced-price lunch while also striving towards being bi-literate global citizens. My students work together as a community trying to achieve and be the best they can be.

My Project

Math can often bring up anxiety and frustration for students, but it doesn’t have to be that way! Utilizing these games will help engage students and help them have a positive experience with math. As a math interventionist, I work with all grade levels and hope to utilize these games as both a both a learning tool and a prize for home for students.

Having a library of math games will allow all students at my school access to high quality games that support learning.

This will be a wonderful resource school-wide that encourages peer interaction, skill-based practice, and student engagement. You will be supporting not only one classroom, but impacting students on a much larger level.
