Approximately 75% of the students at our school receive free or reduced-price lunch, and we have a high number of military families. There is an amazing group of hard-working young adults in my class. They strive every day to do their best and succeed. Their goals and dreams are to achieve a high school diploma and go to college.
These students take any obstacle in their path head-on and don't let it slow them down.
These students overcome so many different setbacks during their time in school.
My students are an amazing group of future leaders who strive each day to reach their goals of attending college. They come from diverse backgrounds including poverty, homeless, and military families. Each day they have to face so many obstacles that no student should have to endure, yet they don't let anything stand in their way of reaching their goals. I want to help my students prepare for their financial futures by learning about money management, budgeting, taxes, and so much more. The better they are prepared now will make a huge impact in their futures. My students love to learn through games, especially board games. I am requesting various editions of Monopoly so that my students can learn about spending money, investing money and the surprises that can occur that cost money. I am also requesting various editions of the Game of Life which incorporates more real world situations that will make my students think when they are learning about money management and financial literary. The dice, game marker chips and play money will be used by my students who are extra creative so that they can design their own edition of a financial literacy game and share it with the rest of the class. When they are creating the game themselves, it will help to deepen their understanding of various situations that can happen in real life that can affect their financial stability. All of these games will make a huge impact in how my students learn about financial literacy. Thank you for considering to support my students through this project.
