My Project

Even though we try and make everything fine, we are in tough times. Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is more important than ever. Teachers are constantly asked to help students manage emotions, navigate social challenges, and improve peer interactions, but I lack a tried and true curriculum to teach these skills effectively. The Zones of Regulation curriculum offers a structured, easy-to-use program that helps students identify their emotional states and develop strategies for self-regulation. The purchase of the Zones of Regulation curriculum will be available for all to use in our elementary school, providing teachers with the resources to support our students' emotional and behavioral growth, especially those with dysregulation and social difficulties.

The Zones of Regulation program helps students understand and categorize their emotions into four color-coded zones: Blue (sad/tired), Green (calm/ready to learn), Yellow (anxious/excited), and Red (angry/overwhelmed).

It teaches concrete strategies to help students move between zones and return to a calm, focused state. This curriculum is especially valuable for students with special education needs, attention challenges, and sensory processing issues. It provides a clear framework for understanding emotions and managing social interactions, helping students with dysregulation feel more confident and in control.

With this resource, we strive to improve classroom behavior, increase emotional vocabulary, and help students independently apply regulation strategies. It will also support students in recognizing social cues, resolving conflicts, and communicating effectively with peers. Teachers will be able to use the curriculum consistently across grade levels, creating a shared language for emotional understanding and problem-solving.

With your support, we will provide students with lifelong skills to manage emotions, navigate social challenges, and create a more focused, positive, and supportive learning environment. Thank you!
