My Students

Ever since I brought in my personal acoustic guitar, students were dying to try it out.

Every week, somebody asked me if I taught lessons. So began the guitar collection. We acquired 3 electrics and already record music with them. Students love it and we all want to play together!

My Project

With 11 additional guitars, students will learn how to properly play them in a group class setting instead of 3 at a time. They will build fine motor skills, coordinate their eyes and hands, and eventually learn the layout of guitar without relying on sight. We will sing, count, and read music while moving fingers which will challenge and stretch crucial neural connections in the brain. Their concentration and critical thinking skills will see a significant improvement!

My students are excited to see progress.

It is difficult to measure with only one concert a year for each grade, so we need to do something repetitive and measurable yet fun and engaging. Once they gain the performance skills, we can create new music and explore the creative aspects of song writing. They will take life skills such as perseverance and focus beyond the academic setting. They will feel accomplished when they see their progress throughout the year.
