My Students
My students at SFIHS are all recent immigrants and English learners. While many are drawn by the opportunity to better their lives educationally and economically, others are refugees fleeing violence and political turmoil in their countries. They bring with them diverse culture and languages from all around the world, and more importantly - their dreams and aspirations for better futures. Having already overcome many barriers to immigrate to the United States, my students still face numerous challenges as newcomers establishing themselves in a new land.
At SFI High School, it is our goal is to empower our already amazing students to envision, plan, and realize their own success.
With your help, we at SFIHS hope to teach the essential academic, socioemotional, and linguistic skills to my students so that they can create change in their own lives and in the communities around them.
My Project
As our students return to school this spring, more and more of them need better masks (KN95 and N95) to protect them every day. Because most of my students do not have equitable access to quality masks, most of them are only able to afford reusable cloth masks or one-time-use non-surgical masks.
All students deserve to feel that school is a warm, welcoming, and safe place to expand their horizons.
If students have access to more KN95 and N95 masks, they would be able to stay safe during this semester while continuing their learning at school.
