My Students

Our school is located in a predominantly rural, low-income neighborhood with a majority of the students being of native Hawaiian and/or Pacific Island ancestry. Even with the financial hardships in their lives, my students come to music class excited every week. They love to sing, dance, make music, and their energy is infectious!

My Project

As we navigate our time through the pandemic, one crucial part of the students' education has been hit- music programs. We want to continue making music safely in our room while mitigating the spread of aerosols, especially for our concert band. By getting these instrument masks and bell covers, we are following national guidelines and suggestions for a safer rehearsal and will lessen the spread of COVID-19 within our community

Your gift will help my students be able to practice their instruments as an ensemble safely in school.

As a Title I School, we do not have the funds to secure enough masks and bell covers for the number of students that we have in our band program, but with your gift, we can ensure that every student has access to a clean mask and bell cover to use for each class.
