Help me give my students classroom essentials including mathematics and STEM manipulatives, teachers tape and adhesive, erasers, sticky notes, and magnetic wands for literacy manipulatives.
This project is the "Mary Poppins bag" for the classroom! As a first-year teacher, I am attempting to gather a variety of classroom essentials, including manipulatives for mathematics, STEM, and literacy. Manipulatives will provide concrete support for abstract mathematics, science, and literacy concepts.
I am also in need of basic supplies such as erasers, sticky notes, and teachers tape/adhesives.
The teachers tape will allow me to hang student resources such as a sound/word wall and alphabet/number cards on the classroom wall without damaging the building.
This project will create a learning environment that will jumpstart active learning, total engagement, and fun-meaningful projects.
The magnetic wands will act as a visual and motivational factor for students as they segment and blend each individual sounds in words. The pop-it boards will be used for various math games as students learn numbers 1-10, 10-20, adding/subtracting, and how to place numbers in 10 frames.
The rest of the manipulatives will be used for our core subjects (literacy, mathematics, and STEM) which means they will be used daily in our classroom. The variety of manipulatives will increase student engagement and allow students to pick concrete examples that make the most sense to them. Also included are liquid motion bubble timers that will be used as socio-emotional tools within our classroom.
