My Students
"The math you give us is too easy and boring!" is what I hear on a daily basis in my 3rd grade classroom. I am requesting materials to once again make math fun and to enrich my above grade level students.
I am lucky enough this year to have 21 eager-to-learn 3rd graders!
Many of students are above grade level in math. As happy as this makes me that they know their 3rd grade "stuff" they are basically getting nothing out of my daily instruction. Since 3rd grade concepts come so easily to them I feel I need to enrich their learning so that they get the most out of their math time.
My Project
This is my 2nd year teaching 3rd grade. My supply of enrichment activities are VERY limited. I am unable to provide my students with enrichment activities that they need. I am requesting donations for these manipulative's and math learning games in order to provide my students with enrichment activities that will challenge them and allow them most out of their Math time. It is my love and responsibility to provide the best education for my students no matter what. If my request is granted, I will be excited to see my students faces light up when the participate in these activities that are not only fun but challenging for them. I can't wait for math time to once again be fun!
I am very invested in my 3rd grade students.
I believe in their individual abilities to become great mathematicians. While the math program my school chooses to use is fabulous, it does not provide activities and manipulative's to support my above grade level students. While below grade level students are important, supplies and manipulative's are usually geared towards them. The students needing enrichment are often forgotten. I will not forget my students this year.
