Marvelous Math Bots!

My students need the ability to bring coding into the math classroom! With the use of Ozobots and the included coding program, students will learn the basics of coding to perform real life mathematics!

My Students

The students in my math class are smart, bright and love to integrate technology into our math class. We are a pre-kindergarten through sixth-grade school of approximately 475 students. Our school is very close to being considered Title I, but because we are not officially, we do not receive additional funding above our regular budget. We have about 63% of our students receiving free or reduced rate lunch. Our teachers work hard to create an atmosphere that is encouraging and inspiring. Our students love our school and are eagerly ready for new technology tools to implement into our class. Of the 55 elementary campuses in our school district, my class consistently ranks in the Top 3 academically. I attribute my success to the ability of creating innovative lessons that stimulate the student's mind through technology.

My Project

My students love math and even more so they love the ability to integrate technology within the math classroom. I would love to expose students to coding and robots in my math class. With the Ozobots, students will learn how to perform coding operations while also learning important math concepts. Students will complete math projects such as coding the Ozobot to travel along a coordinate grid. Another project will allow the Ozobot to construct a quadrilateral while students compute the area and perimeter of that figure. Students can use the Ozobot in a STEM challenge exploring bridges.

The possibilities are endless!

I make it a priority to include technology into every math class, and the students are eating it up! They are thirsty for more and I want to give them the opportunity to learn and experience coding and robots.
