Help me give my students reeds and ligatures so that they can continue making music this school year without worrying about whether they have enough money or not.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Plato said, "Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything." I want to expose my students to as many music experiences as possible in our Band classes so that they will believe what Plato said.
My students are so excited about music and love to listen to, experience, and create music.
Our Title I school is located in a small, rural county in SC. Our district, school, and administration value the creative and performing arts and feel that students excel through the arts.
My Project
Our Hurricane Band is growing by leaps and bounds. We have a very small budget that is dedicated to repairing instruments to outfit our ever growing band. We are hoping that you can help our students out this year.
The reeds and ligatures that you are providing will be given to students who simply cannot afford to purchase their own.
Our students who play oboe, clarinet, and saxophone will be able to focus on learning how to make music with the reeds and ligatures this project would provide.
Our school is 100% free breakfast and lunch every day. We also provide free meals to the community during the summer months. Your donation will help our band students continue to thrive and be successful musicians both inside and outside of their community.
