This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As we move into summer, I can't help but think of my new bunch of first graders and the struggles we have ahead of us. Our district has not yet chosen what we will do in the fall and by the time they do we will only have a month to start getting things ready.
As a teacher leader, we are already thinking about what distance learning will look like in the fall.
One thing that has been on my mind has been supplies my students will need to do their best work from home. They will have their Chromebook and charger. But I know they will need more than that to do their best work!
My Project
These materials will help my students do their best learning at home. Since we will not be physically in the classroom, everyday materials will not readily be available for my students. These are items that I store in my classroom and can easily grab it for use in the classroom.
I want to set my students up for success by providing these crucial materials.
The pandemic mixed with district cuts makes it difficult for my students to get these materials as well as burdening their families to get these materials for their child. Students will come to their computers ready to learn and will help me use every valuable teaching moment with them. These items will bring life long learners to life by allowing students to thrive in our new normal.
