My Project
As middle school teachers, we have noticed a great amount of students do NOT have the necessary map skills to accompany them in social studies. Our fifth grade curriculum consists of learning about Colonial America and the American Revolution. It is very challenging to grasp these concepts when students do not know where colonies and/or states are.
Our students will thrive when they are able to identify colonies and states on a map.
This map will support our learning during the Colonial America unit as well as the Massachusetts map supporting us during the American Revolution unit. It will be so exciting to learn all about the state that we live in! I know our fifth grade students will have so much fun identifying where we are and what we are learning about on a map!
