My students are so excited about performing for audiences and they are already working hard at achieving excellence. What I choose for them to perform is never easy. My philosophy is that if you challenge a student or a classroom to be excellent, they very often will meet that challenge.
My students are excited about performing.
They love the arts and being a part of the theater experience. In our program, students get the entire experience of theater. We do our own costumes, our own choreography, our own make-up, and our own set construction. Most programs around us hire people and/or rent props, sets, or costumes. We pride ourselves in achieving excellence without being handed everything. What we achieve is solely a product of our hard work.
My Project
These resources will help us to achieve excellence in our classroom, which is the stage. We have had old lights from our community theater donated to us. The light rack will help us learn about actual theater lighting. The current lights on our stage are fluorescent lights like every classroom in our school. Lighting is just another area of theater that my students will be able to experience.
This classroom gives students a place of acceptance and a place to realize that they can be part of something bigger than themselves.
They can realize their potential as a performer and gain confidence for their everyday lives. The light rack and microphone will help students achieve excellence for our production.
