This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When you walk into my classroom, you will see my students working in pairs, in small groups and there is definitely a buzz. You will see students working on Chromebooks, iPad minis, and even personal smartphones. My students are used to using many different modalities to demonstrate their understanding. More than half of the students in our school come from low-income homes.

My students are a group of seventh and eighth graders who are English-language learners and Spanish-language learners.

They have been learning in both languages since kindergarten in our school, which is a K-8 grade school model.

My Project

What is a math classroom without markers, tape, and math manipulatives? It is one that is missing basic classroom supplies. We use markers and tape every day in our class for our interactive notebooks. And it gets depleted in our classroom, therefore there is a need for replacing them constantly. My students also need math cubes and playing cards to enhance their understanding of math concepts.

Help get my classroom to stay well-stocked all year round.

Classroom supplies run out faster than I can replace them. So having a stocked classroom of basic supplies will provide the necessary tools and resources to support our learning community for a longer time.

Please help my students have basic classroom needs met with supplies. My students and I will be grateful on a daily basis for your generosity.
