it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help me give my students colorful paper, markers, scissors, glue, dry erase boards, and other hands-on materials to turn “I forgot my pencil” into “Look what I made!”
Let’s be real: some of my students arrive to class with zero supplies and even less desire to work—unless “copying answers from Google” counts as participation.
But underneath the eye-rolls and missing pencils, I see bright kids who just need the right spark to engage.
That’s where these supplies come in.
Colorful paper, markers, scissors, and glue turn blank assignments into interactive creations they can cut, design, and personalize. It's amazing how quickly "I’m bored" turns into "Can I make another one?" when paper is purple and glue is involved.
Dry erase boards with graphs and markers are like magic. Students who won’t write on paper will suddenly race to show their work when it’s erasable and on a board.
Laminated chart paper and laminating pouches help me post reference tools that students actually use—because it’s hard to Google your way through math when the steps are already on the wall.
Supply boxes make it impossible to say “I didn’t bring anything” (nice try), and give each student ownership over their tools.
Copy paper and construction paper keep our classroom running—whether for foldables, games, or projects that get even the most “I-don’t-do-work” kids participating.
I’m not asking for magic wands—just the materials that turn passive students into active learners. Your support helps create a space where kids want to do the work (or at least can’t say they “couldn’t”).
