This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very energetic 7- and 8-year-olds who are excited about learning. They love to read and write and engage in conversations with their peers. They are eager to read both literature and nonfiction and write about what they’ve read. Many of my students began elementary school without foundational reading skills, but they have been working hard to attain grade-level standards. Most of my students are second language learners. Reading in the classroom is essential to their continued success!
My Project
My students are imaginative and creative learners! They love to explore their artistic side and capture it through various mediums. Markers are not available through our regular school supply warehouse and most of my students don't have the means to purchase these supplies on their own. I engage my students in different art projects on a regular basis and having different mediums allows them to acquire new skills and explore different techniques. Having these markers will give my students an opportunity to draw and add color to their pictures using different tools. Providing these markers for my students would greatly enhance their art education.
