Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am very fortunate to be the art teacher in a very diverse school, where over thirty native languages are represented. I welcome the diversity as well as the rich mixture of my students in my classroom. I see over two-hundred 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students a year.
They love exploring everything from portraits and still life, to sculpture and painting.
Their creativity is limitless, and I love being able to give them the tools to be problem solvers, hone their technical skills and provide multiple creative opportunities to grow as artists and students.
My Project
My students are hybrid this year, which means I see them two days a week in class, and they have two days at home. Some students need materials to use at home. Students also need materials in the classroom. We are not allowed to share materials, so each student needs their own set of everything. This can be very challenging when supplies are limited. Please help me give my students their best shot to succeed in art class, whether they are at home or with me in the classroom. Thank you.
