Mark That Book -With Watercolor!

Help me give my students watercolor paint and new brushes to experiment with new techniques.

My Project

To help build background knowledge in watercolor and to prepare for more complex paintings, students will try out a variety of watercolor techniques. We'll paint using wet-on-wet technique, dry brush, wet-on-dry, and we'll create a wash. Students will use the lift-off technique and experiment with resists, salt, rubbing alcohol, and plastic wrap.

Watercolor can do amazing and beautiful things.

We'll even experiment with color theory using analogous and complementary colors. After we finish these experiments, students will cut and laminate their paintings, making bookmarks. Another benefit of this project is the opportunity to focus on and practice the vibrant content vocabulary. The results will be spectacular.
