My students need new drum heads and snares to make the instrument sound great, while new stands that are sturdy will protect the instruments. We also need practice pads to use to during class time.

My Students
I teach at a school in North Carolina where 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. They are provided with a snack fridge in the hallways that they can select from during class change times. My students come from various backgrounds and have suffered many hardships in their short lives. They struggle with learning right from wrong and how to properly show support to one another. With so many challenges they still come to class eager to learn.
My Project
Our drum equipment is in sad shape. We have a lot of broken instruments that we try to piece together to make one complete instrument.
I want my students to take pride in what they do but that is hard when they deal with broken, pieced together instruments.
With the new practice pads we can practice quietly and new drum heads, snares, and stands will help us sound awesome at concert time!
Right now my percussion students have to share drums because we do not have enough instruments for each student. It is difficult for them to learn proper technique when two students had hitting the same drum at the same time. By obtaining new pieces I can have up to 6 students performing at the same time on their own instrument.
