What is the one unifying part in every piece of concert music? The bass drum part! In concert band, students need that solid bass drum line in the background to keep the band together. I teach beginner band to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and they are unfortunately missing out on hearing that part properly played.
The purchase of this bass drum isn't just for the students playing it, but for the band as a whole.
We have tried to repair the one we have but it is decades old with some damaged spots being unrepairable. My students do their best to perform on this drum but it does not sound as it should and actually hinders our performances.
With a new concert bass drum, students won't have to struggle to keep time, all percussion parts would be properly played, and our performances will be even better!
