My Students

The students are a wonderful combination of athletes, scholars, young scientists, and beginning computer programmers. They come from different parts of the country such as New York and California, and even Branford, FL. They are proud of their community and school, and I’m very proud of them. Our school has a rich musical history. We are trying to update our facilities and equipment. Our students are also working very hard on their individual performance responsibilities. We are using technology more and more in the class room so the benefit of having a quality equipment and supplies will allow every student to participate and learn from each other without the distraction of clutter. We have traditional instruments in our instrumental program. Our students strive to become the best musicians they can and deserve the best equipment possible to help them do this.

My Project

Having appropriate, new mallets will allow each student to concentrate on proper technique, listening skills, and tone without worry of old or broken equipment. Each student will keep their mallets in a specialized pvc case that protects each set of mallets. Having new mallets also provides a visual consistency among the percussion that is vital to teach proper timing and consistency from player to player. We will be growing in section size this year, so having these new mallets will allow the percussion to keep the older equipment for practices or emergencies.
