We are not your typical class. Every day is something new. Lets start at Marching Kazoo Band!
My students have grown and transformed into wonderful, young music connoisseurs, hungry for more information and experience with musical instruments.
I took their new enthusiasm and ran with it. We introduced bucket drums, electric guitars, and drum sets along with hosting high quality concerts. My students want to do the unusual and extraordinary, and I am more than willing to guide them along their chosen path.
The kazoos will be the primary instrument of our soon to be "marching band" in addition to our school made marching bucket drums. We will learn to play classic American compositions, including several marches by Composer John Phillip Sousa. I will take students outside, teach them how to march in time, keep organized formations, and play an instrument at the same time.
Students will gain an appreciation for multitasking, as well as developing critical motor skills used in every day life.
We will expand our classroom outside of the building and utilize the wide open space on our school's property. We will be active and spend physical energy while learning fundamentals of music, keeping students healthy!
