My Project

March is quickly approaching, and I have another idea for a classroom transformation -- March Mathness. I want to transform my classroom into a NCAA March Madness basketball game center. When I create lessons, games, and activities, I make sure that I incorporate the interests of my students. Most of my students have a love for sports.

My goal is to design a review day that consists of various basketball games that students will compete in as they complete math problems.

Students will be learning and reviewing previously learned math skills, but also having fun at the same time. Classroom transformations have made a HUGE difference in my classroom. Changing the environment is a way to engage students to support one another in learning. A lot of work goes into putting it together, but it is all worth it to see how much fun they have. I will use ceiling and wall decorations and tablecloths to get students excited as soon as they enter the classroom! The miniature basketballs and baskets I have will be turned into various math games.
