This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Sitting a standard chair for most of the day is common in many classrooms, but my students variety. This is why I am asking for stools and fick bands for my classroom so my class has options that work for them. Sitting stationary is difficult for many. These stools and fidget chair bands will allow them to move and get their wiggles out without having to get out of their chairs. Movement helps them stay focused.
The use of flexible seating to keep focused along with the ability to locate places on maps will enable my students to connect our learning to actual locations building a better understanding of geography!
Maps are critical components to helping students understand geography and my students love to read a story and then go find that location on a map. These maps will allow students to assimilate stories with read life locations and strengthen their geography skills.
I would love to new maps to help see our country and the world.
