This grant is requesting world maps so each group of students will be able to look closer at the relative and absolute location of places on these maps, plus use dry erase markers on the maps to use them as a learning tool. Many of my students are visual and hands on learner and many are still learning English, so the additions of these types of resources will provide a more engaging and equitable classroom. An additional globe will benefit students’ understanding of map distortions and more accurate understandings of how places are connected geographically. The educational posters packs reinforce historical concepts we study and will allow students to revisit these concepts consistently. The laminator will also allow me to preserve important notes and resources that can then be reused without damage over time, and that students can also write on and interact with. The additional organizational supplies will provide a place to store these and other resources when not in use.
