This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Everyone knows how important it is for students to have access to quality books and instructional materials; unfortunately my students don't.

I teach English Language Arts and Social Studies at a high-need California public school.

My sixth grade students are developing into curious learners and avid readers before my eyes. I am committed to supporting these budding scholars through working with authentic maps and texts in our classroom. Your support will provide new materials and books for our classroom in the new year. You can help!

My Project

These materials will be used on a daily basis and make a huge difference in developing curious learners and accomplished readers. Every day in class students will be using these write-on laminated maps during instruction and will be able to refer to them any time they have a question about geography. As a result, they will become much more knowledgeable about the world and their place in it. Students will have constant access to these books and be able to choose them to read independently and to discuss what they are reading with one another. All of these resources will be used in the classroom for years to come.
