Manoa Glowing Garden

Help me give my students to start our Earth Day and nutrition unit “our glowing garden”. Students will plan, design and build a school garden in hopes to reduce waste(importing of food) and to eat cleaner. Mahalo!

My Project

Mahalo for your donations! As we learn about earth day, nutrition and exploring healthy lifestyles; students will design (with play dough) plan (using math strategies and 3D shapes) and build (hands on outside) a school garden. Students will try different local fruits and vegetables and decide which to plant and will do research to find which plants grow best in our Manoa environment. Students will strategize how to keep the garden clean and healthy and will create their own groups and responsibilities checklist, with a schedule (using our math time learning). Once the garden starts to grow students will create a “how to” writing piece to share with the other grades at our school to share how to help take care of and use our school garden so it continues to thrive and feed many!
