Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help us close the educational gap for my eager students! My diverse class lives in a low income neighborhood. Many of my students did not have the opportunity to go to pre-school. With the high standards today for Kindergarten, it is difficult for students who did not attend pre-school to meet these standards. As their teacher I need to fill the gaps that my students come in with, and I need a lot of efficient materials to do so. No time can be wasted in our class! With materials from this project they will develop their literacy skills in order to become successful life long learners and readers.

My students come to school excited to learn each and every day!

I am so excited to see their faces when they receive literacy centers from generous donors. My students will be so grateful for all the new learning materials we will have! With my students' enthusiasm and these new materials we can help close the educational gap for my students and for generations of students that will come into my classroom.

My Project

Teachers can increase student achievement through using concrete manipultives. With manipultives students can connect to mathematical concepts. Using manipultives helps reach all styles of learners.

Help me show students how math is fun and engaging!

Students will be able to more creative while learning math. Student engagement will increase through using manipultives.

Students will be able to practice building skills and fill in developmental gaps. With tile magnetics students can learn how to build and increase interest in architecture and engineering. Students will practice ordering size with pyramid shapes. Many students in my class were not fortunate enough to go to preschool; through these manipultives they will be able to have the same experiences as their peers.
