My Students

My 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students are all students in special education and experience difficulty in learning. Yet, they come to school eager to learn skills that will help them in their future schooling, employment, and life. They work hard. They are creative and fun.

My students are positive and hope to succeed in the future.

They strive to be respectful and responsible as they work toward success in their future schooling, jobs, and independence. I strive to help them learn the skills to be successful students, motivate them to keep learning, and provide the tools to be successful in their future.

My Project

My students need a variety of math manipulatives to explore and understand math concepts. I teach the essential topics of the regular education curriculum and concepts, but my students have difficulty learning and applying knowledge to new problems independently.

My students will really benefit from having hands-on experiences to understand and remember math ideas that will help them in life.

The manipulatives will help my students engage more of their brain in learning and make math meaningful to them. They will be able to manipulate the materials to better understand the geometry, fractions, graphing, equations, and probability that are taught in junior high. Thank you!
