My Project

In this project, I am requesting some equipment which will facilitate a creative and hands-on music composition station. In May, a teaching artist will be visiting our classroom through the CAPE (Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education). This teaching artist is a professional musician, specializing in the area of synthesizers and electronic music.

Students will love playing and crafting music with analog synthesizers and drum machines.

These looping synths and this KORG drum machine will be used both during this two week intensive partnership, as well as at Gillespie for years to come. I am excited for the project to begin! We are a magnet school with a technology focus. If this project were to be funded, the mission of integrating technology into all areas of the curriculum will be fulfilled. Creating music with synths and drum machines will be the kind of hands-on learning our students need.
