My Project
My students need hands on math manipulatives to help them to be successful with adding and subtracting. Many of my students are missing key skills to be successful in my class in order to add and subtract numbers. In second grade, we do a lot of adding and subtracting two-digit numbers. We have been learning different strategies that we can use to help us solve our problems. My English language learners and my students who are considered tier 3 students are in need of manipulatives to help them visualize their answers to help them solve their problems. With these materials, my students can have their own 100s chart and number line to use during their math time. The magnetic ten frames can be used during my whole group teaching as well as in small group teaching to show students a visual representation of our addition or subtraction problems.
