My students are always eager to learn. Math is hard for some of the students to grasp. Using manipulative while teaching and learning helps students comprehend the concept of math.
Our school is a title 1 school.
There are limited funds to purchase math manipulative materials. I use many different ways to teach students math and make up many of the manipulative materials myself. Students are always eager to use the materials to help them grow and learn. I have had much success using different types of manipulative materials during math lessons.
My Project
My students need math manipulatives like: 3D shapes, pattern blocks, clocks, graph paper, and base ten blocks, to help them learn math skills. Students in the 1st grade will use these materials to help them learn math. The materials I am asking for will be used in small group, whole group, and math work stations. Students will be able to manipulate and explore different areas of math with the use of these materials.
The donation of theses materials will help me teach in a more affective way.
Manipulative materials helps students put math into a more concrete form. With these materials students will grow in their knowledge of math. These materials will also save time while planning. Having resources available to me helps plan a more effective lesson.
