This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have some seriously voracious readers and so many of them LOVE MANGA. Well, they love the little bit of manga we *have*. Even my less enthusiastic readers love reading manga! So many students gravitate toward manga and graphic novels because chapter books can feel intimidating to them and I'm always happy for kids to just have a book in their hands!

Nearly every class that comes in BEGS for more manga.

We currently only have one series of manga on our shelves and they're checked out so often my manga shelf is usually pretty empty.

I have asked for sets of manga that my students have been asking for and some that I am excited to introduce them to based on their interests! I am eager to provide books that entice reluctant readers into the library and get books they love in their hands!
