Manavon Elementary & Phoenixville Area Ealry Learning Center Lego Clubs

Help me give my students from kindergarten through sixth grade the chance to grow as creative problem-solvers, critical thinkers, inventors, engineers, and designers during our afterschool lego club.

My Project

My name is Kyle Diveny and I am an elementary school STEM teacher for grades kindergarten through sixth grade within the Phoenixville Area School District.

Over the last seven years I have had the chance to teach five years of full-day kindergarten and two years of building-wide STEM at both of my schools.

What makes my role unique is that the Early Learning Center is home to all of the kindergarten and first grade students for the district - approximately 300 students in each grade, in addition to another 300 students between second and sixth grade at Manavon Elementary School.

I am seeking your help to provide more afterschool opportunities for all my students in the coming school year with a new Lego Club. It is my hope that with your support I will be able to host around 20 students from a given grade each marking period twice a week to complete Lego based challenges together.

The ultimate purpose behind this club is to help empower students as they develop stronger communication and teamwork skills with one another, gain confidence in exploring and expressing their ideas, and most importantly have fun while being creative with one another.

Teaching STEM continues to be such a rewarding experience to witness these boys and girls tackle the engineering and design challenges that I present them weekly with so much excitment, joy, and laughter. Likewise, it is equally worthwhile to see my older students be just as engaged and motivated to construct their ideas when they are given Legos, hot wheels, building blocks, and other assortments of STEM materials.

On behalf of my amazing students, thank you for considering contributing to this goal of mine for the 2025-2026 school year and the rest to follow in the future too.
