MANAGING EMOTIONS HELP STUDENT TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN SCHOOL

Help me give my students books and materials to help them identify their emotions and develop effective coping skills to manage them. Sensory fidget toys are a great tool to help manage feelings of anxiety.

My Students

Big feelings are hard to navigate when you don't know what triggers them or what coping skills work for you. I am the school psychologist for students in K through 5th grade and 2 special needs classrooms. I

I work with students with a variety of social-emotional needs in groups and individually to help them build the skills needed to manage emotions.

My Project

Students are facing many challenges on a day-to-day basis. They've been impacted greatly by the pandemic and have been isolated from friends, and classmates. Many are struggling with anxiety, depression, autism, and anger management. These materials will be used to teach these students the skills needed to manage their emotions to help them be successful in school and life in a varity of ways. Emotional management helps students to be more engaged in school, pay attention in class, develop healthy relationships with others and be more empathic with others.

Students will learn how to express themselves/needs, develop healthy connections with others, calming activities, and fidgets, anger management strategies, etc.
