Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Kindergarten sets the tone for the rest of students' educational career. For many students that I teach, this is their first experience with a formal school setting and the setting and demands can be overwhelming at first.

Setting clear expectations and using positive reinforcement paired with emotional regulation helps my students to learn appropriate behavior in the classroom.

Sand Timers are a great tool for young students to understand time and have a visual when working on a task or needing to wait for a preferred item. The star jar will be used for whole class incentives that we can work for with appropriate behavior overall.

Our school also utilizes PBIS so the small prizes and prize box will be part of something the students can earn for good behavior with their points. The Teacher Mail is a positive way to send home good messages with students and "catch them" while they are being good.
