This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every day kids hear about becoming GREEN, RECYCLING and saving our RESOURCES. Do they truly understand what that means? The first time I brought it up, several thought we were adding green dye and paint to the room! My reaction was, OH DEAR!

Our school is located in an urban environment.

Many of my fifth graders do not get outside. Someone has to open their eyes. I'm a-ready to do it! Our school is participating in an energy grant to help them learn about recycling, reducing waste and saving energy. It is a delight to see kids flip off lights, as well as put "old" paper in the bin rather than wadding it up for trash.

My Project

I hope to set up a science learning station so that students become more independent in the classroom. This resource kit will open up students' minds to understand more about earth's resources and the challenges faced. It will also help them learn to live green. It will "arm" them with information to share at home.

How will your donation make a difference?

It will give my students an opportunity to THINK GREEN! A science learning station will make them more accountable for their own learning! If you would sponsor this proposal, you would be helping my students to move into a GREENER world! I would be so appreciative of your generosity.
