This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Percussionists are lucky enough if their school has large equipment to play. There is however, an issue with expensive material that has to be replaced regularly, especially for lower income students.

Acquiring these mallets will ensure enough material for my percussionists to start on 4 mallet technique, which simply is reliant on having enough mallets.

My percussion program is rapidly growing, both in numbers and in quality. Students don't typically start 4-mallet technique until high school, but my students are proving to work hard enough and develop quick enough to show that they are ready for skills and concepts early.
