This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our Title One school is blessed with a culturally rich, diverse population, with ninety-two percent of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunches, and a high concentration of English Language Learners. Sean Junkin's quote, "So often you find that the students you're trying to inspire are the ones that end up inspiring you," applies to my classroom everyday.

Our students have generous hearts that will change the world if they are given opportunities to share their passions and learning with others.

They will inspire you, as they inspire me each day.

My Project

Imagine standing in your first-grade classroom and putting on a virtual reality headset. What once was a dream, can now be a shift in innovative student-led learning.

Virtual reality literally changes your perspective and the trajectory of expected learning with hands-on innovation and collaboration.

With the requested HTC VIVE virtual reality bundle, my young students will have the world in their hands. This bundle includes everything our students will need to create and explore such as licenses, processor, motherboard, power supply, headset, monitor, and warranties! The opportunities to create and explore virtual reality can only increase interests in the subject matter, increase engagement and improve the quality of my students' educational experience. In addition to an increase in traditional academics, this bundle will also provide an outlet for creative expression.
