Making Virtual Learning Interactive

Help me give my students to enhance their virtual learning experience with Nearpod. Nearpod capabilities provides ESL and students with accommodations to have materials and instructions read to them ,along with interactive participation during live sessions.

My Students

Our school community has survived many economic and social disasters. The history of the community has many events many communities would not have survived. Students demonstrate the perseverance and determination of their community. During the pandemic and educational restrictions students have banded together to help each other and maintain educational goals.

Students have created a virtual broadcast they have named "Zoom 4 Your Room", a Google Jamboard for students who are new to the district, and help in the search for apps to improve our learning experience.

We have also had theme days, show and tell, and online recess. All ideas to help students stay engaged in their learning.

My Project

Nearpod will provide for student interaction during virtual sessions. Teachers havef three options in delivery of lessons. Teachers may add interactive features to lessons they already created in Google Slides, choose from premade lessons, or post lessons for students who were unable to attend session

The upgrade to Nearpod Platinum will include "Immersive Reader" which translates written materials for ELL students, read passages and instructions for the struggling readers, and allows for differentiation of lessons.

All students have the ability to interact during lessons, especially virtually, is a game changer. Students have to be a part of the lessons, no more signing into a live session and playing video games simultaneously. When and if I return to in classroom I will continue to use Nearpod. With all students having options on how to respond to questions, provide feedback, or ask questions while delivery of a lesson keeps students engaged and responsible for their own learning. Students who struggle or do not want to make comments to the whole group can without having to worry about being wrong or made fun of.
