Mr. Williams from Wilmington DE is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students a more seamless online/virtual experience in mathematics and problem solving. These two devices will support the understanding of mathematics and technology outside of the classroom feel real, allowing students to connect virtually.

The students I serve vary in learning styles, home environments, and academic progress since virtual learning started in the Spring. According to the Delaware Department of Education, based on previous data, our absenteeism runs high currently with 65.46% of students attending school regularly. And due to the changes we have all experienced in this global pandemic, our student enrollment is down almost of 100 students (318 enrolled as of November 13th). All in all, though our numbers are lower than anticipated this is an opportunity to increase the importance of building relationships and academic progress for every scholar. With that said, I know it is imperative that my scholars become more familiar with the variety of online platforms created for their success and challenging myself to make instruction meaningful and as real as in-person instruction to support every learner.
Mathematic requires a high level of visual appearance and connectivity for students to master content. For instance, when writing, creating, and solving equations I have noticed that my penmanship is at times lacking in clarity. The purchase of an iPad will help move my classroom more seamlessly for students and support the movement of edits, quality of product and continuity of a math lesson. These materials will make a difference in my students learning by helping them connect concepts through marking of text and online ebooks with seamless flow and drawing of graphs and lines to support the understanding of shapes and lines. As you may know, educators are trying to configure what teaching looks like now virtually and advanced technology will bring it to life.
