This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Primarily West African and Somali, some of our students have only been in the country for a short amount of time. Our school is low income, with nearly all students on a free breakfast and/or lunch program.
I absolutely adore my students, who range in age from 5 to 15, and thinking of exciting and fun ways to help such a broad range of ages/grade levels (K-8) is a true joy.
I love to make materials for each project, and engage in as much differentiation as possible.
My Project
As a teacher, I spend a great deal of time cutting out templates and images for my students to use. Using a Cricut, I will cut down on the amount of time I spend making resources for my students such as templates, educational resources such as color wheels and value scales, and increase the amount of time I can devote to creating more exciting projects for my students.
Giving students my best is integral to my effectiveness as a teacher, and there is no greater resource than more time.
If funded, I will be given the opportunity to save time with prep and devote time and energy to my students!
