I teach three to five year olds from low in-come families. My classs this year consists of students that speak English, Spanish, Sign Language and Mandarin Chinese.
My students are inquisitive children that are just starting to discover their love for learning.
They enjoy hands on projects and active learning. I try to expose my students to as many new experiences as possible while in my classroom. The more we do, the more we learn. The more we learn, the more we grow and grow in our love for learning!
Reading and play are the best way to help our students grow! Music and art give students a way to express themselves. Music is the universal language that brings my group of diverse learners together!
My Project
Art and music are very important in my classroom. With this project, I hope to give my students more materials to express themselves in the classroom. We have plenty of paint for the students. However, we do not have the materials that make painting possible. We need brushes and bottles to help make our projects possible.
My students love to express themselves through music.
Every day we try to incorporate music in a new and exciting way. My children enjoy marching around the room playing the many different instruments that we have in our classroom. They also enjoy making our own instruments out of paper towel tubes. The "boomwhackers" will help us to see how the sound can change based on appearance.
