Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

In this first grade class, the students come from a wide variety of backgrounds. We have an ethnically and economically diverse group. Students have a range of abilities and work well together, supporting one another's efforts. There are a few English language learners, a few students with special needs, and several gifted students.We are a community of writers who write together and individually every day! Some of us write well above grade level, some are on level and some write below grade level expectations, but we all write every day.

My Project

I work on a computer for much of my planning, grading, assessment and communication with parents. Unfortunately, the way funding is right now the school cannot provide a working laptop. I am seeking donations to improve the lives of my students and to improve my work. This laptop will function as the classroom's main computer. We will use it for lesson plans, research, communication, grading, and for use with the overhead projector when displaying important videos and images within lessons. Students will benefit greatly with updated technology. I cannot stress enough how badly this is needed in our room. Thanks!
