Making The Flute Accessible

My Project

At the Charles Sumner Elementary School, we pride ourselves in providing opportunities for all our students in the arts. Our 5th and 6th grade band program is open to all students who are interested in learning a new instrument. We tailor our instruction and band classes to meet the needs of all of our learners. However, in order to be inclusive to all students, we are in need of an adaptive instrument to meet their physical challenges.

This NUVO Flute has a special adaptive mouthpiece that will allow our students with physical challenges to make a great sound on the flute and participate fully in our band program.
