This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very bright and eager-to-learn kindergartners who attend a public school in the heart of the city of Chicago in the Humboldt Park area. All of the students receive free lunch, and our school district is making record-breaking and heartbreaking cuts to the budget. The students are truly suffering. The majority of students in our school are below grade level and also below poverty level. They come from homes where education is not always a priority, but they come to school ready and eager to dive right in and learn.
My Project
Imagine a classroom that inspires creativity and success daily. With the Cricut machine, our classroom decor will step it up to a whole new level. Kindergarten is big on projects and having the classroom labels to promote literacy and the cricut would make it that much easier.
The Cricut can create anything from bulletin board decorations, labels, and student projects, to personalized student learning materials.
My classroom could use this as an opportunity to bring our letter and word learning to a whole new level. We would be able to not just print out objects that begin with a certain letter, but we can bring those things "to life". My hope is that by bringing a Cricut not only to my classroom but to our whole school, each classroom, teacher, and student will reap the benefits of your donations.
